LOVING SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T LOVE THEMSELVES : WHEN INSECURITY BECOMES A SILENT BREAKUP
💔 Loving Someone Who Doesn’t Love Themselves: When Insecurity Becomes a Silent Breakup
By Kassy Gold
There’s something deeply painful about giving your all to someone… only to feel like it’s never enough.
You reassure them.
You call them.
You stand by them when they’re drowning in fear.
You silence your own needs so they can feel safe.
You choose understanding over anger love over ego.
And yet they still push you away.
That’s the tragic love story many of us never talk about loving someone who has trust issues, pain from their past, and walls so high they can’t even see the light you’re trying to shine into their world.
When Insecurity Becomes a Storm
In the beginning, it’s small things: a little jealousy here, a few questions there. But over time, insecurity turns into accusations, silence, emotional distance, and sometimes even cruel words. They test your loyalty constantly, and even when you pass every test, it’s never enough to calm their inner war.
It’s not that they don’t love you , it’s that they don’t know how to receive love without suspicion.
Being the “Secure One” Isn’t Easy
They say it’s a blessing to be emotionally stable in a relationship, but sometimes it feels like a curse. You become the peacemaker, the fixer, the healer even when you’re the one bleeding from their words or drowning in the silence they leave behind.
And when you finally say, “I’m tired”…
They leave.
No closure.
No gratitude.
Just silence.
Weeks go by. You call. You check in. Nothing. The person you bent over backward for suddenly “wants nothing to do with you.”
So What Do You Do?
You grieve the love you gave.
You question your worth.
You wonder what more you could have done.
But the truth is:
You did your best. And that’s enough.
You cannot save someone who is addicted to their own pain. You cannot be soft enough for someone who uses harsh words to mask their fear. You cannot love deeply enough to make someone love themselves.
That’s not your work.
Real Love Doesn’t Feel Like This
Real love doesn’t leave you anxious.
Real love doesn’t make you beg for attention.
Real love doesn’t weaponize your kindness.
Real love doesn’t disappear without a word.
You don’t have to carry the weight of someone’s trauma just to prove you're loyal.
You don’t have to bleed just to show you're strong.
And you don’t have to chase someone who chooses silence over healing.
Your Peace Is Sacred
This isn’t about bitterness it’s about boundaries.
This isn’t about weakness it’s about wisdom.
This isn’t giving up it’s letting go… of what was never yours to fix.
So if you’re like me the one who loved, tried, cried, and still wasn’t enough for someone drowning in their insecurities I want you to know:
You are not the villain in their story.
You are the survivor of your own.
🌹 Final Words
Sometimes, love isn’t about holding on.
Sometimes, it’s about honoring yourself enough to walk away not because you stopped loving them, but because you finally started loving yourself more.
And that… is where healing begins.
