LOVE, DOUBT, AND THE POWER OF OPINIONS IN RELATIONSHIPS

LOVE, DOUBT, AND THE POWER OF OPINIONS IN RELATIONSHIPS

Long-distance relationships are not easy. They stretch patience, test trust, and magnify insecurities. When two people from different backgrounds, cultures, or tribes fall in love, the beauty of diversity comes alive but so do the whispers of doubt.

In this story, a man finds himself deeply connected to a woman from another country and tribe. Yet instead of resting in his own heart’s knowing, he goes around asking people, “What do you think about women from her country? What do you think about her tribe? How do they behave?”

And as expected, most people feed him warnings and red flags.

🛑 The Danger of Outsourcing Your Heart

Here’s the truth: when you constantly ask others about your relationship, you are no longer listening to your heart . you are outsourcing your love to public opinion.

Some people will speak from personal pain, projecting their experiences onto you.

Some will judge based on stereotypes about a tribe, a nation, or a culture.

Few will give you the balanced truth.

The danger? You end up drowning in noise, and the authentic voice of your own heart gets silenced.

 Every Person Is an Individual

No tribe is perfect. No country is flawless. No group of people behaves exactly the same.

When the man asks, “How do people from her tribe behave?” what he misses is that he’s not dating a tribe he’s dating a woman. A real, unique, breathing individual with her own values, dreams, and choices.

Love dies when stereotypes replace reality.

Red Flags vs. Real Flags

It’s wise to seek guidance in relationships, but there’s a difference between real red flags and borrowed red flags.

A real red flag is something you see for yourself: dishonesty, disrespect, lack of commitment, or patterns that hurt your well-being.

A borrowed red flag is something people hand you because of their experiences, biases, or assumptions.

If the man is only carrying borrowed red flags, he risks sabotaging a relationship that could have been built on love, trust, and understanding.

The Call to Courage

True love demands courage  courage to think for yourself, to trust your own discernment, and to separate your heart’s voice from the crowd’s opinions.

Yes, listen to wisdom. Yes, stay alert. But at the end of the day, the question is simple: What do you see in her? What do you feel when you’re with her? What does your own spirit say?

Because no one else is in the relationship but the two of you.

 Final Word

Dear reader, whether you’re in a long-distance relationship or standing face to face with love, remember this: people can share their opinions, but they cannot live your love story for you.

Don’t let stereotypes and borrowed red flags destroy what your own eyes, heart, and soul already know.

In the end, it’s not about what people think. It’s about what you believe, what you nurture, and what you choose to build.
